In my final days in Indianapolis I went shopping with Bride1 and got some new shoes. They are Toms brand, multi-coloured and say “the journey is the destination” on them. They also donate a pair of shoes to a child in need with every pair that is sold. How could I resist?! Well the way they fold a the front kinda looks like foot binding, but I’m just gonna override that thought and pretend it’s more like origami. Did I mention they are super comfy and that they came with a bag, a sticker and a friendship bracelet?
I know they are super comfy because I did a lot of walking today. I wanted to go to the “home grown” festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. So off I went, getting confused on the subway, but still getting to Prospect Park eventually. When I arrived I checked out a Pride festival that was going on in Brooklyn, I think Pride week starts in a few weeks, but they are starting to kick off things now.
Then I took a nice walk through Prospect Park to the Botanical Gardens. Well, it was pretty nice considering it was raining lightly the whole time I was out and about today. I feel like I’m being told that tonight is a good night to stay in and read a book.
The botanical gardens was pretty and looked like a great place to go when the weather is good, but by that stage I just wanted to get dry, so I didn’t stick around for the festivities. There was even going to be a demonstration about making Jams, which made me think of friends back in NZ, but I was ready to head back to the hotel then.
