The High Line park is an excellent walk, although it was packed with people. One of the phone companies had sponsored a rainbow play park, and further down the line we saw a whole bunch of people, mostly men, some in bondage gear, at a large gathering. It may have had to do with Pride week coming up or possibly to promote the marriage bill that was coming up at the time.
I really like how the walk has been done with lots of plants and flowers added, plus a cafe halfway through. We walked the whole length of the walk and since Bride1 was wearing her pedometer I think we figured out we were walking 2-3 times the recommended daily steps each day she was here. So yeah, I had sore feet.
For dinner we headed to the Upper West side where we ate at Fatty Crab. A cool Malaysian/South East Asian restaurant, which wasn’t what we were expecting, but still very good. Then I may have got us a bit lost, and we had salty caramel yogurt for desert and eventually walked the 30 blocks back to the hotel.
The next day we have a lovely brunch and walked a bit longer in Central Park. The shuttle I booked arrived 12mins early, and wouldn’t wait for me to get back, then the company stuffed us around and the next shuttle never arrived, so Bride1 rushed with me to Penn Station via the subway and made sure I got on the train to the airport. I was very sad to leave her and New York. But I was off to London to see the Queen! Well, to see Little Sister and attend a wedding, but that is still important!
