Our time in Vienna had some awesome moments, but was also very sad because while we were there Star’s grandmother passed away. During our travels Star had told me various stories about her Grandmother, and I got the impression that she was a wonderful person and a precious part of Star’s childhood and life. <\/p>\n
We were lucky that we had free wifi at our hotel, so we were all able to catch up with family and she could stay in contact with her brother and parents. Skype was used a lot. <\/p>\n
Our chat to my sister and neice was a good distraction, with Sweets wanting to show off her Teddy bear and Baby doll and get her mum to put a nappy on them for her. I think she was amused with our singing to her, and she liked to show off her jumping and shout “Ta Daa!” She is still a wonderful delight to us all. I hope my poor sister gets over her fluey cough soon!<\/p>\n
We were only in Vienna a short time, but managed to eat schnitzel and apple strudel and I tried Sacher Torte because I was told to. We visited the Schloss Schon brunn Garden and the hedge Labyrinths there was cool for the games you can play there, like the dance glockenspiel and this math puzzle which I will attach a picture of and you can try and figure it out.<\/p>\n
We also went to the zoo, but it started raining while we were there, so it wasn’t much fun. Though, we saw the pandas (but they mostly hid from us), rhinos, hippos, giraffes and giant tortoise.<\/p>\n
On the day we left we went to Stephansdom which has an awesome roof, and some interesting carvings inside. Then we walked to the Sisi Museum, Imperial Chambers and Silverware collection which were all very interesting, and I bought a little zipper pull of one of the stars that Sisi was famous for wearing. After that we walked to the museum quarter and then headed back to the station to jump on our sleeper train to Venice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
