As I type this I am sitting at the Brooklyn Flea Market, drinking a tamarind juice and resting my feet as Bride1 wanders about. Once again I am glad I am on a budget, as there are lots of beautiful things here.<\/p>\n

The Lion King was fantastic, like a massive puppet show and musical combined. The matinee showing was filled with little kids and there was lots of clapping along to songs. At the start I had crazy hilarious flashbacks to my old Jazz Ballet classes where once I performed as a bird in Circle of Life. The costumes here were a tad better though. Especially awesome was the life size elephant!<\/p>\n

After the show I visited the World Trade Centre construction and a preview if the memorial centre which will open in September for the 10 year anniversary. Then off to Wall Street, China Town and I also stumbled into Little Italy. In China Town I visited a temple with a large golden Buddha, but couldn’t hang out in the main area because of a memorial service. Instead I just did a bit of meditation, which I was really in need of, and gave some donations and bought a little Buddha necklace.<\/p>\n

Yesterday Bride1 arrived and I went to pick her up in Harlem as she got off the bus, then it was back to the hotel and off to revisit Time Square. Actually she had not been before, even though she had been to New York. So we wandered into lots of shops again and also went to see Bridesmaids. There was more gross\/hilarious moments.. And a character even spoke Thai at one point. What is up with movies flaring my thai-home sickness.<\/p>\n

We also managed to walk to the public library and visit Grand Central station and the Chrysler building.<\/p>\n

Today we continue to cram in things to do and we walked the Brooklyn Bridge before walking to this flea market. There is never too little to do here. I have already started thinking of things as “I’ll have to do that on my next visit!”<\/p>\n
